Our story

Untuvaa is a webstore that is a product of the COVID spring of 2020 and the excess of free time
that came with it. Our main values are responsible production and endorsing Finnish
craftsmanship.

The whole idea for a webstore started to build from the idea of the Untuvaa Taiga duvet cover
and its main purpose of making everyday life easier. Taiga’s design, production, and sewing
takes place in Turku, Finland. Alongside the Taiga duvet covers, we have selected a variety of
lovely products for our store. Green values and ecological thinking are also important to us, and
that is why we offer our clients the opportunity to receive their orders in recycled packaging.

The idea for Untuvaa originated from a practical problem. Duvet covers for double beds are
extremely difficult to put on and use. But what if the duvet cover had a zipper? We sewed a
prototype, which we demonstrated for our friends and noticed that we are not alone seeking a
solution to this problem. This is how the Untuvaa Taiga duvet cover was born.

Our Team

Ida: In my busy life, fighting with duvet covers started to be a big problem for me. I’ve never been
a domestic spirit myself so finding easy solutions for these kinds of problems comes quite
naturally for me. And when one cannot find a ready-made solution, one has to develop it oneself.
Do you know the feeling you get when you have a huge desire to do something, but you find your
own skills restraining you? Lucky for me I have people near me who are professionals in their
own fields and who are brave enough to jump into new projects. Anything is possible when
working together, and that is why we are able to offer you the opportunity to make your everyday
life easier. At Untuvaa, I consider myself a Jack of all trades.

Heli: It is important to me to have a tidy and neat home, with a decoration style that combines
uniqueness, quality, and esthetics. My main responsibilities at Untuvaa are to carry over my
design standards to the company.

Adrian: I think home decor should be simple and beautiful. I prefer easy and practical solutions.
My responsibilities are handling the technical side of the Untuvaa webstore and content.

Ilkka: I am a precision scale, and I like Scandinavian and simple, clean style in home decor. I am
involved with the marketing of Untuvaa.

In addition to our team, we have a large network of lovely collaborators with whom we are
developing a future of easier everyday life. The journey is continuing, and we are open to new
ideas and partners and collaborators who share our vision and values.
